More women than men die at cardiac infarcts
Death by cardiac infarct - many think there of stressed men in elevated positions at the middle age. But far been missing: With under 60-Jährigen the cardiac infarct is with women of frequent cause of death as with men of the same age.
Berlin - with women under 60 an infarct leads more frequently to death than with male heart patients of the same age. Women suffer on average only ten years later a cardiac infarct than men. “You die however more frequently to it”, say Vera Regitz Zagrosek, chief of the center for sex research at the university clinic Charité in Berlin. That is particularly valid for the few young heart female patients. The reasons for the higher number of deaths are various: “The heart wreath/ring containers look particularly with the younger women often differently than with men”, explain the Kardiologin. These differences would have also consequences for the treatment and therapy success: To bypass operations for example come it with women more frequently to complications. Crucial above all the first days are in the hospital.
Too carelessly?
Beyond that women with complaints go frequently only relatively late to the physician. They did not believe that they can really get a cardiac infarct. “Women underestimate their risk often substantially”, warn those expert. Die the data according to in Germany more women at the consequences of a container or a heart illness than at cancer. The number of the cardiac infarcts with women did not increase according to Regitz Zagrosek in the past decades however necessarily: “The emancipation caused rather that the health problems of the women are more strongly noticed.” (DPA)
